엑스선의 발견 The discovery of x-rays 빌헬름 콘라트 륀트겐 Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen (1845~1923) 엑스선을 최초로 발견한 사람은 독일의 물리학자인 륀트겐이다. 1895년 륀트겐은 여러 음극선관 실험을 하다가 밀봉된 진공상태의 음극선관에서 우연히 형광색의 빛을 목격한다. 이 알 수 없는 빛을 "엑스선"이라고 불렀고 이 엑스선이 신체를 투과한다는 점, 그리고 이러한 엑스선이 백금시안화바륨 종이를 감광시키는 것 또한 발견하였다. The person to discover X-rays was a German scientist, Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen. In 1895, Roentgen accidentally witnessed fluorescent light emitting from a sealed vacuum cathode ray tube while conducting several cathode ray tube experiment.
